Christmas Comes Early: The Four Horsemen’s New MOTUC Castle Grayskull Has Arrived!!

VIDEOS AND TEXT BY ISRAEL RAMIREZ

I’m putting these up in in reverse chronological order, so that if you want to learn more about the making of the Castle you watch videos four through eight which originally appeared in our “Hanging with the Horsemen” segments.

What does it feel like to finally finish up the biggest and most nerve-racking project ever and ship it off to Mattel? Sherri Lynn Cook lets us know in this video, in her inimitable style. Also featuring Jim Preziosi.

Sherri Lynn Cook, Four Horsemen Toy Design’s prototype painter extraordinaire, stars in this episode of Hanging with the Horsemen. She was a remarkable sport for agreeing to do a round of interviews after working almost round the clock for a week to get Castle Grayskull and a bunch other prototypes ready for New York Toy Fair. The discussion of paint options features Eric Treadaway, H. Eric “Cornboy” Mayse, Shane Dittsworth and more.

MTV visits to get a sneak peek at the prototypes. So this is actually a behind-the-scenes look at MTV’s behind-the-scenes look at the making of Castle Grayskull.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a horsefly on the wall at Four Horsemen Toy Design Studios? Here’s some random footage of a fan wandering around Four Horsemen Toy Design studios as the Four Horsemen gear up for New York Toy Fair. If you watch until the end of the video you’ll catch a cameo by amazing veteran Toy Wizard Bill Mancuso (He’s a dead ringer for Thorin Oakenshield) who came in to help the Horsemen meet their most important deadline of the year.

Shane Dittsworth, a senior member of Four Horsemen Toy Design’s supporting cast, shows takes us through the extreme stress, trials and travails inherent in molding and casting Castle Grayskull for Mattel, the largest single project that Four Horsemen Toy Design has ever worked on.
